Abstract

This investigation explores how institutional backing and shared team confidence shape the drive to succeed among electronic sports competitors, assessing these variables both separately and jointly. The target demographic comprised exactly 48 individuals who secured medals during the 2026 North Sumatra Esports Provincial Championship. Methodologically, the inquiry applied a total population sampling technique, ensuring every champion participated directly in the data collection process. The study adopted a descriptive quantitative framework, relying on multiple linear regression as the primary tool to interpret the statistical data. Based on the analytical outputs, providing robust organizational resources independently triggers a substantial and favorable surge in the competitors' desire to achieve. In a parallel finding, a squad's internal belief in their joint capabilities acting alone also serves as a potent catalyst for their ambition. Furthermore, when analyzed simultaneously, the combination of external management provisions and internal group confidence dictates the overall drive to win, accounting for a 53.1% variance. The findings conclude that building a championship-caliber mindset in digital sports cannot rely on fragmented strategies. True competitive zeal is born from a harmonious intersection between excellent external administrative stewardship and a healthy, unified psychological environment inside the roster. Consequently, regional athletic associations are urged to craft training blueprints that balance the funding of high-end technological facilities with dedicated psychological coaching to fortify team cohesion.
